You may book housing at the group rates listed below starting at 10 a.m., August 6, 2019.
Due to limited room availability at the conference hotels, you must register for the conference prior to booking your hotel reservation. Registration opens August 6.
- Reservations must be booked online (a link will be posted here) by October 28 (or before all available rooms are reserved).
- Reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card at the time of booking. The Hilton Austin requires one night’s deposit plus tax (to be charged after September 29).

Beware of Room Poachers
Conference registrants are sometimes contacted by room poachers offering cut-rate housing. They make it seem as if the offer is made on our behalf, or that they are a viable alternative to our service provider. This is not true. Housing for the Texas Assessment Conference and TACTP Conference is handled exclusively by the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau.
How it Works
Room poaching is a practice carried out by third-party companies acting as travel agencies, wholesalers, or destination management companies to solicit registrants for room reservations.
The poacher might inform registrants that the hotel room block is “sold out,” and that if you do not book with them immediately, you may not get a room. Additional deceptive tactics include distributing forms or promotional materials that appear to be issued by us.
Room poachers make it more difficult for us to meet our room block commitments and expose us to penalties and increased room rates for our events.
Room poachers often don’t deliver on promises to customers. When customers arrive, reservations are non-existent or the hotels are not conveniently located. Sometimes the rooms have been canceled and hefty fees have been placed on the customer’s credit card.
Poachers often represent themselves as being affiliated with us by illegally using our logo.
What You Can Do
Don’t be misled! If you are contacted by anyone asking if you need a room for the conference, please get as much information as you can and pass it on to our housing service provider, Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, 877.205.2871.
Receive the listed group rate at the following hotels when booking your housing online by October 28 (or before all available rooms are reserved). All hotels are within walking distance of the convention center. No shuttle service is provided.
